STATEMENT OF BELIEFS
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives.
• We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
• We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.
• We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.
• We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.
• We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues which is the initial evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.
• We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
• We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

TEAM VALUES
Our team values reflect who we are as a church, what we believe and what we practice in every service, ministry and outreach at Faith Christian Church.

Biblical Truth
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
The bible is our foundation, and we look to the word of God to direct our lives. The bible is our primary source for knowing and understanding the will of God. Not only do we value what the word of God says, we are committed as a team to growing in our knowledge of God and to obeying the word of God.

Our views on morality and sexuality are theologically conservative - based upon the teachings of the bible exemplified in passages such as 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Hebrews 13:4 and 1 Corinthians 7:2

Prayer
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
We are a church that believes in the power of prayer, and we encourage every person at Faith to be people of prayer. Every week before our weekend services, we pray together as a team and this is a vital part of our serving. We also regularly meet for prayer meetings throughout the year and we encourage our team members to attend.

Discipleship
Matthew 28:18-19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
We are a team that values being disciples as well as making disciples. We know that we have been called to be disciples of Jesus and we value and take responsibility for our own relationship with God. We do this by living a lifestyle that is committed to prayer, reading and knowing the Word of God and a lifestyle that is based on obedience to God.
We also value Jesus’ commission to “go and make disciples”. This is a call for all Christians and as a team we are focused on encouraging others in their faith and helping them to grow and develop in their walk with God.

Fruitfulness
John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing
We are a team that values growth and productivity. We contribute by giving our best at all times and we serve with diligence. This means that when we serve, we arrive on time and give our area of responsibility our focus. We are also committed to developing and growing in our gifts and skills so we can serve the Lord with excellence.

People
1 Peter 5:2-4
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
We are a team that cares for people. We believe for the best for people and their families and we are committed to helping others live a life of devotion to God.
As a result of our commitment to care for people, we strive to be a team that is friendly and welcomes others, especially those who are new to our church or visit a church service for the first time. We remember that every person who walks through the doors of our church are God’s people, and that we have been entrusted to be stewards in His house to look after them.

The House of God
Psalm 122:1
I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
We are committed to building the house of God together and because of that we always have a ‘big picture’ focus. We are one church, in many locations, but we have one vision and one purpose, which is to grow the kingdom of God.

Unity
Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
We are a team that is committed to working together and therefore we always strive to treat others on our team with love and respect. We understand that there is strength when God’s people work together to build His house and in all that we do we focus on having a spirit of unity.
