One Youth Vic has been servicing local high schools with developmental programs for over 10 years and has a number of success stories to celebrate. The One Life program, mentioned below, has been a catalyst for an increase in school attendance with disengaged high school students. Our in class programs address an array of social & developmental issues & our lunch programs create a safe place for teens to develop friendships & hangout with other students in their school. The focus of our student services is to assist in re-engaging students & showing them a positive way to view themselves & others. All of our programs have been designed to adhere to the Education and Training Reform Act. If you would like to host our team in running one of the below programs or have a program tailored to suit your needs please contact us “here”.
The One Life Program is a dynamic and relationally based program, which is designed to increase the participants value of self, others and education. We seek to achieve this by being practically involved in the curriculum of the high school, offering an extension to the primarily academic agenda of the government standards for teaching.
The One Hour is a program designed to mentor and encourage students, who are in need of support or someone to spend time with during the week. It provides an environment where teenagers can share and express what they are going through to a young adult (18-23) who can listen and encourage the student.
Beautiful One is a program designed specifically for young girls who are dis-engaged from school or who have poor school attendance. It’s a place where girls are shown that despite what the media says about them, they are beautiful and have a sense of worth. Teenage girls are constantly bombarded with the message that they are not good enough, smart enough or strong enough to face the world. But the Beautiful One program shows these girls that they are Beautiful and are capable to have a successful future.
One Skate is a program designed specifically for students who are dis-engaged from their schoolwork or who are having troubles in their home life. It’s a place where students can connect with mentors and other students whilst also enjoying a fantastic and entertaining program.
One Eighty is a program designed so students can have a space during lunchtime to engage with other students and mentors. It’s a place where they can express themselves and develop their social and life skills.
Strong One is a program designed specifically for young men who are dis-engaged from school, struggling with fitting in at school or are having family problems at home. It’s a place where guys are shown what its like to be a man and where they are taught the values that every man should aspire to have. In this generation there is a large absence of father figures in families because of work commitments or due to broken families. Within the Strong One program an environment is created where young men are shown and taught qualities of manhood.
